Most wedding proposals are an emotional event, but Emily and Matt's engagement was intensified even more than most. On the night Matt proposed, Emily's grandmother was taken to the hospital with complications after undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer. It was a long, emotional night sitting outside the intensive care unit wondering if she would even make it through the night. The happy ending is that not only did her grandmother make it through the night, she was there to dance at their wedding.
